Words from our friends
"The family of H.H. thanks you for the excellent job you are doing in the
legacy of running the Cape Elizabeth Home entrusted to you. My father called us from Florida at age 93, where he had lived
in retirement taking care of himself for 25 years. 'Come and get me, I can no longer take care of myself, because of poor
eyesight, find me a home. We went immediately and looked at some of the new assisted living homes, very fancy, very expensive,
definitely not his way of life. Not knowing anything about the Cape Elizabeth Home, we decided to ring the front
doorbell to inquire. The door was answered by friendly and smiling staff, and wonderful aromas coming out of the kitchen.
We immediately felt this would be a homey, warm home that he would be very comfortable in, a home that would fill all his
needs. We signed him up right then. And the rest is history. He loved his new home, his room was his castle. He loved sitting
out on the back porch and yard, or getting some exercise. He was able to enjoy it all for over four years. And we feel the
excellent care added years to his life, for which we thank the staff for their wonderful caring ways and excellent food. In
appreciation for all you have done for my father...." -M.G. and family, Cape Elizabeth
"As a little girl,
my mother's father had routinely driven her past the Cape Home so she could wave to the 'old ladies' on the porch. And many
years later, when she needed to move out of her own condo at age 91, the 'obvious' dawned on us! Mom's first visit to the
Cape Home sealed the deal. She said, 'Ah, this feels like me. I've found my new home!' Our whole family felt at home with
our Queen surrounded by caring staff, a gentle cat, and their gourmet chef. Oh, the food is unmatched! Sadly when Mum required
round-the-clock care she had to relocate....But her three years at the Home will remain some of her warmest memories - and
ours too." -Rev. Lorraine Cleaves Anderson,
Boston
"Thank you for taking such
good care of my dad. He brags all the time about living at Cape Elizabeth Home, and that he has the best food in town every
day." -S.T., Portland "Many thanks to you and your great crew for
the kindness, love and care shown to my mom. We were very lucky to have found a wonderful home for her." -J., Cape
Elizabeth
"My dear friends at the Cape Elizabeth Home, I thank you all so very, very much for the love and joy
you gave Mom. You, the residents, the workers, and the Board, you gave her a home and a reason to be. I need to thank you
each individually, as she would wish me to do, but for the moment I am thank you all, collectively. Know that you all are
in my prayers and that I can never really thank you for all you gave mom and me." -E.B., Palmyra
